Rick Yost

Agents image DRE # 02120037 Rick grew up as a kid in the fifties, attending Christian schools from elementary thru high school, with Church every weekend with the entire extended family. Back then a kid could ride his bicycle all over his side of town till well after dark all summer long, and be completely safe. Too bad those innocent days are long gone. Summer afternoons were spent with friends at the local swimming pool, after morning chores were done, till dinner time. His grandparents ran a large retail variety store like TG & Y, with everything from hardware to sewing patterns and dry goods, including a large comics section and an old fashion candy counter. His first paying job was to sweep the floor at the end of the day for fifty cents an hour. Seemed like big money to an 8 year old. After dinner it meant washing and drying the family dishes, before any TV. With his two sister’s husbands both graduating from Loma Linda School of Dentistry many years ago, Rick was often a “guinea pig” while being worked on by his brother-in-law in the undergrad dental clinic. He says it feels like he has spent his life in a dental chair, listening to and learning the finer points of buying, equipping and running a growing full time Dental practice. After a year playing Division 1 tennis in Riverside, Rick received his undergraduate degree from La Sierra University, with a double minor in Business and Education, he then completed coursework for an M.A. in Business Management, with emphasis in personnel, at the University of Redlands. After graduation Rick moved to Santa Barbara as Assoc. Physical Director of the second largest YMCA on the west coast, managing over 40 employees and volunteers. All those old business courses all of a sudden became very relevant. Rick’s next move was into the banking industry, with the largest privately held bank in the County, as an Operations Analyst. Several years later, when recruited to the Goleta Chamber of Commerce, for Business Development and Membership, it was back to the non-profit field again. While at the Chamber of Commerce, Rick’s skills were honed in recruiting and fund-raising, which have led to many years assisting local non-profits with their annual charity golf events. Helping to recruit celebrities and pro sports figures, has made many personal contacts, and great friends. Rick’s son is currently a full time Golf Asst. at one of southern California’s largest destination resorts. Rick now feels he has come full circle by combining his recruiting, banking, and business development skills, coupled with his many contacts from San Luis Obispo to San Diego, to assist the professional in moving forward with a new practice, relocation, or retirement.
