Rick Yost

Rick grew up with two sisters in the La Sierra/Riverside area. Both sisters grew up to marry dentists. Both dentist were graduates of Loma Linda Dental School. Rick was often a “guinea pig” while being worked on by his brother-in-laws in the undergraduate dental clinic. He says it feels like he has spent his life in a dental chair, listening to and learning the finer points of buying dental equipment and running a full time dental practice.

After a year playing division 1 tennis in Riverside, Rick received his undergraduate degree from La Sierra University, with a double minor in business and education. Achieving his B.S. degree, he moved to the University of Redlands where he completed course work for his M.A. degree in business management. His elective courses were focused on personnel.

Having graduated from the University of Redlands, Rick moved to Santa Barbara where he had accepted a position as the physical director of the second largest YMCA on the west coast. His responsibilities included the management of over 40 employees and volunteers. All of a sudden, poof all those business and personnel classes began to make a lot of sense and were very relevant. Rick’s next challenge was into the banking industry as an operations analyst.

Several years later he was recruited by the Golita Chamber of Commerce, as the business development director and membership chair. While with the chamber of commerce, Rick’s skills were further honed in recruiting and fund-raising, which led to many years assisting local non-profits and their annual charity golf fund raising events.
